Sorry Everyone for that Confusing Last Letter

Sorry everyone for that confusing last letter.
We had an activity on the other side of the mission so we had to leave. But we were all given permission to return to the internet to finish our time. SO here I am again! About the photos that I'm attaching. The first is Hermana Espinoza and I, last week.  Our Zone had a scavenger hunt and one of the pictures that we had to take was with a Volkswagen. So I thought I would just attach it!
The second is my crazy companion and I. It was a FREEZING cold day, and my companion wanted ice cream. So she bought ice cream for the both of us and we started laughing at us. Both with jackets and freezing, but eating ice cream!

Lastly, members in our ward gave us presents for Día de Independencia! The shirts and the hats. So we of course had to take a picture of the both of us!

Again I love you all and you're all in my thoughts and prayers! Have a wonderful week! Especially my family at the family reunion! SO JEALOUS!!!

Happy Independence Day Perú

Good Morning to all and Feliz dìa de Perù!
As I was walking to internet today, we were walking down the street and there are Peruvian flags everywhere and everything is white and red! I'm so happy to be here! I love Perú!!

Anyways, this week was a little rough for Hermana Karratti. It started off wonderful and ended great! But in the middle... well, not so good. I guess I'll start with the bad and then end with all the good! How does that sound?

Bad part: Hermana Espinoza and I were watching a parade on Friday and there were a lot of people passing by. We were enjoying the parade, then I look back and my bag was open and my wallet was gone. Not a fun day, I'll tell you that. But after a lot of prayer, I was comforted. Apparently someone else needed the money more than me.

Okay, now the good parts of this week! We have not only 1 but 2 baptism dates! Yay!! One girl that we've been teaching is 12 years old. And yesterday at church her mom gave her permission to be baptized! I'm really happy about that! The other is a 19 year old girl, her name is Milagros. She's been a PERFECT investigator! Her best friend is a member and the first lesson that we had with Milagros, she walked in with her Libro de Mormon and a Principles of the Gospel book. Apparently her best friend had given her these and told her to read them. She is awesome! We planned for her baptism and she accepted the 16th of next month! I hope it goes through! Yay!!

Well anyways, sorry this letter is so short. Don't really have a lot of time this week. Sorry! I'll catch up again next week. Sorry!!

Love you all!

Con mucho amor,

Buenos Dias!

Buenos dias a todos!
Yet again I'm here, writing about my crazy adventures here in the wonderful land of Perú. How is everyone enjoying their summer? I'm so jealous of all of you! Anyways, I want all of you to know you're in my prayers and I hope and pray that everything is well with all of you.

Anyways, this week was wonderful. Yesterday in church we had 2 of our investigators attend and it was great! We were talking to them afterwards and they told us that they felt so peaceful and happy and they loved church. How wonderful is that? Also Bryant... THANK YOU FOR YOUR LETTER!!! It made me so happy to receive a letter, please send more!
Thanks Bryant for your Letter!
Also Mom, please thank my little Johnston boys for my letter. I was yet again proposed to by Mason with strict rules that I can't marry anyone else. Love those little boys!
My Cute Letter from Mason Johnston

Thanks Jonston's for your Letters!
Oh! Apparently my name is now Rosemary, remember the investigator I was talking about a while ago, the one who wants to learn English? Well the other day she was asking me what my name was, and I asked her what she thought my name was. She thought about it for a little while, then said, "Rosemary! I'm going to call you Rosemary!" So since then, every time we are at her house. She calls me Rosemary. Don't know exactly why... but oh well!

Another thing, we reactivated another family! I'll attach a picture of them at church yesterday. The little one that's with me is Lejandro, he apparently has told his parents that I'm his girl. Oh no! I have another little boyfriend. Yikes!! But the family is wonderful, and they have such a desire to come to church but with 2 little ones it's difficult. But they really want to be good examples to their kids so they're trying.

(and my little boyfriend)
Lastly, we're having one of our members that we've been working with going through the temple! When we first arrived here in this area, she was a less-active. But now she's active and preparing for the temple. She wants us to come along with her, so on Friday when we had interviews with the President we asked and he said yes. We get to go to the temple again! Woo hoo!

Other than that, this week was great. Gave another talk in church yesterday... in Spanish! And I'm amazed at how well the language is coming. Yes, I don't understand everything perfectly, but it's slowly getting better. I don't feel completely lost in the lessons, and I'm able to contribute. 4 months down! That's crazy how fast time seems to be going.

I'm excited for this week, because on the 28th it's Independence Day here in Perú! Our landlord gave us a flag for our house because apparently there's a law that if you don't have a flag on your house on the 28th, you have to pay a huge fine. Thanks Hermana Rosa for the flag!

Well, I love you all and I hope this finds you all well and happy! I want you all to know that I know that this church is true. José Smith was a prophet of God and we are so lucky to have a living prophet on the Earth today to lead and guide us. The Book of Mormon is amazing and it's truly the word of God. My goal is to finish the Book of Mormon in Spanish before the end of the year. It's hard but awesome at the same time.

I love and miss you all dearly!
Have a wonderful week!

Hello Again!

Good Morning and Buenos Dias to all!
How is everyone? As I say every single week, I hope this finds you all well and happy! Well this week went by way too fast! Seriously, it feels like I was here yesterday. But I'm happy to be here again. Anyways, what happened this week?

I'm officially the pianist in my ward. We only had one other woman in our ward who could play the piano, and she's busy with other things (divorce and other things) so I'm the pianist. Last week I was sitting in sacrament meeting with my companion and the Bishop looked down at me right before the meeting was about to start and motioned for me to go to the piano and play. And the same thing happened this week. So he told me yesterday that I'll be playing the piano from now on. Or at least until they find someone else to play. But I seriously play for everything. And it's okay, I like it!
Our House was Really Cold during Study Time...
We've been trying to find new investigators to teach! And guess what? We found not 1, not 2, but 3 new investigators. And one of them is a family! So excited about that! The big problem is that the Hermana, Miluska, she is living with a man, but still married to another. They've been separated for 11 years or so but she's still married to him. She accepted baptism and so did her 3 children and the man she's living with. But we can't until after the divorce, and the marriage. Hopefully I'll still be in this area when all that is done.
One of Our Investigators had this Shirt on.  Yeah Utah!!!
I Need to Buy Him a BYU Shirt though...
But the other investigators are great. I'm still teaching English to the other investigator I talked about last week. And it's going great. She's reading in the Book of Mormon in English and Spanish and she even came to church yesterday! WOOO HOOO!!!! Progress!

We've reactivated about 4 families in our ward, and they're all wonderful. One of them, Hermana Susana is preparing for them temple. I'm really excited for that. Oh I can't wait for her to experience that!
This was My Lunch the Other Day ... HALF OF A CHICKEN!!!
Other than that, nothing too exciting. Just teaching and preaching.
Know that I love you all and miss you so much!
Have a wonderful week!

I LOVE SPEAKING ENGLISH!!!

¡Buenos dias a todos! ¿Como están?
As every week, I hope this finds you all happy and well. Okay, what crazy things happen to Hermana Karratti this week? Actually, not anything too crazy. Just mostly trying not to freeze! Yes, it's getting pretty cold here. And it's weird, in Utah when I was cold, I put on a jacket and I was fine. But here, I put on a jacket and another and I'm still cold. It's like the coldness and the humidity just seep through. Ha the struggle is real! Anyways, Happy belated 4th of July! Being in another country on the 4th of July was a little weird. No fireworks, no BBQs, just another normal day as a missionary. But hey! One of the members in my ward knew it was "American day" so she gave us hamburgers. I guess that'll have to do as my festivities.
KFC with my Old Zone before Transfers.
(I've eaten more KFC here than my whole life in the US)
So English, oh boy I love English. And this week it was a huge blessing that I speak it. We were knocking on doors trying to find new investigators, we knocked on a door and this woman answered. She was talking with my companion, and my comp was trying to ask her if we could share a little message with her. She at first said no, then she looked at me, then she said, "You're an American, right?" I said yes, then she spoke a little English. She told me that she's trying to learn more English for her job but she doesn't have anyone to practice with. So, I asked her if we could come back and talk with her and I'd help her with English. She happily said, "Yes! Please!" So we've been back to her house a few times. Every time we help her with some words, and then somehow we tie the words into a scripture. Share the scripture and that's basically every visit with her. But on Saturday when we visited her, we gave her a Libro de Mormón, and then she asked, "Do you have this book in English? Because I want to read it in English!" So tonight in our lesson with her, we'll be giving her a Book of Mormon! How exciting!
The Other Day a Member Made us these Scarfs!  Cute right?
Other fun adventures... oh yes! So first let me explain the houses here. Carpet doesn't really exist here. My entire house is basically just cement walls and cement floors and every house is pretty much like that. Anyways, on Thursday the woman that we rent our house from was having a gas line put in. But she had to go through our house to have it put into her house. So Thursday we had them drill a gas line through our entire apartment. We had cement, dirt, dust and everything EVERYWHERE in our house! It was pretty exciting I must say. Anyways, all Friday we cleaned. From the time we woke up until about 2:30 in the afternoon! Nothing but fun.
My Bed after we had the Gas Line put in
Well, I hope you're all doing well and you know that I miss you all so much! Have a wonderful week! And please write me!!

Love you all so much!
